Molly was attracted to Michael from the moment they met, but she didn't think the feeling was mutual. "He didn't have much to say at first, so I didn't think he liked
me," says Molly (who's 26 and a sales manager). Turns out that Mike (who's 28 and a data analyst) was the shy, quiet type, and it took him another three months to
finally ask her out to dinner. "Since that dinner we've been inseparable," shares Molly. "I haven't been able to keep him quiet since!" Six years later on a trip to
Naples, Florida, Mike proposed during a sunset walk on the beach.
The couple knew immediately that they wanted to marry in Florida (it is, after all, where they were engaged and where they take all their vacations), so they set
about planning a destination wedding from their home in Pennsylvania. Finding a ceremony site was easy. Mike's parents live in Naples and are Eucharistic ministers
at St. Ann Catholic Parish. Molly walked down the aisle in a white silk satin gown with a trumpet skirt accented by a flowing sash that had been stitched with her
new monogram. Her bridesmaids added a splash of color at the white marble alter, wearing fresh orange-colored tea-length dresses.
Following a full mass and traditional vows, the newlyweds and their bridal party hopped aboard a trolley to the Edgewater Hotel for the reception. Cocktails flowed
in the lobby area where the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the Gulf of Mexico. Guests sampled local delicacies like Caribbean jerk pork kabobs, coconut lobster
tail, and conch fritters, before moving to the courtyard for dinner. Tables sat beneath large white umbrellas and were topped with glass vases that held plump pillar
candles surrounded by sand and seashells.
Sade's "By Your Side" brought the newlyweds to the cobblestone dance floor, where everyone danced the night away beneath a full moon. "Many of the hotel guests
sand and danced along with us on their hotel room balconies," says Molly. At the end of the evening, the happy couple took one final spin around the dance floor,
this time surrounded by their family and friends. -S.B.
